No, I'm not talking about what should have won best picture.
J is looking for a movie about gay marriage or parenthood to show to his ethics class. Preferably something that would present a case study for the students to comment on (doesn't have to be preachy, in other words). He was hoping for fiction not documentary.
If anyone has any suggestions, please post a comment.

well, the birdcage
Hi there - my sister Sarah's "Every Other Minute Of It" blog links to yours. I have two suggestions for you. One is the new (documentary) movie "Inlaws and Outlaws: (http://www.inlawsandoutlawsfilm.com) and the other is to check out the queer film library at GLAAD(http://www.glaad.org). Good luck!
How about Ang Lee's Oscar Best Foreign Film nominee Wedding Banquet or Trembling Before G-d? The latter is a study of homosexual Orthodox and Hasidic Jews. Fascinating sutff, but it's a documentary...
We own Trembling, he's used it before, and he's said he'll probably use it again this time.
Will check out Wedding Banquet.
He says the perfect movie would be that Imagine Me & You, but it seems to have been universally hated by critics so it's out. Unless someone here loved it.
Hey I loved "Imagine You & Me"! (But that could be more about me wanting to see a love story with a happy ending--did I mention that I cry at Hallmark commercials?) ;)
There's a French movie called Same Sex Parents that's not bad.
